… meet with your animation studio maybe it will save you and your company some time and trouble to think about things like:
What kind of story do you want to tell?
What kind of style you would like to use (Disney, South Park, UPA, Abstract etc.)?
What kind of tone do you want your film to have (humorous, down beat, friendly etc.)?
It is always a good idea to spend some time thinking about these things and maybe create a rough storyline or synopsis that the animation studio can read. A synopsis is a brief summary of the major points in the story you want to tell. This will give the studio a better understanding of the film you need and a better starting point when making the storyboard, which will save both time and money.
If you are completely lost your animation studio can take you through the process while at the same time keeping your target group in mind. This is important because there needs to be coherence between the tone and style in the film and your company’s brand.
An animation film can be costly, but it does not have to be. A low budget, needless to say, has an influence on the length and the visual possibilities your film can have. However this does not mean that the film is not worth making. A stylistically simple film in 2D with a good storyline/narrative that has a humoristic touch can easily bring the message to your target group or costumers.
Bottom line is: If you are still in doubt or have questions contact your animation studio and they can help you with the questions and insecurities you might have.
